Visual artist, Almendra Vázquez Vergara, was born in Pachuca, Hgo, Mexico in 1982. She graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts (2006) from the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, specializing in painting and graphics. In 2012, she entered the Scenographic Production Diploma at the Faculty of Arts and Design, San Carlos Academy of the Autonomous University of Mexico.
She has exhibited in more than a dozen collective exhibitions in Mexico and abroad, and is well-known as a cultural producer, scenic painter, and visual artist.
She currently lives in Canada collaborating with the "Colectivo Mictlán, arte y investigación" as producer and volunteer artist in different events of Casa Mexico in Alberta Foundation, and has worked on numerous films, performances and productions.
Almendra also continues to work in Mexico with El Fénix Producciones, Los Pinches Chamacos and Cocodrilo Produxion as production and media assistant, as well as in stage painting in many theater and dance works.
